Who We Are
West Coast Industrial Flooring (WCIF) has attained recognition for delivering high-quality services for more than two decades. Our guiding principles are honesty, integrity and diligence.
We treat our customers fairly, consistently refine our skills through continuing education, and treat each job as if it is the most important one we’ve ever done – because it is. Most of our crew members have been with WCIF for more than 10 years, and some have been with us since the founding of the company in 1992. Our adherence to our guiding philosophy of fairness and honesty has kept us in business for as long as we’ve been around, while many other flooring applicators have come and gone. Our work speaks for itself, as our online gallery shows.
WCIF, based in Sacramento County in Northern California, has been commissioned to perform work for some of the nation’s largest general contractors. We also have worked directly for a wide array of companies, educational institutions and government agencies throughout California and the Western United States.
WCIF founder, president and CEO Michael G. Houx entered the polymer coating industry in 1978 as an applicator, working for another company. Mike gained experience integrating seamless floor and wall coatings, a technique in which the pharmaceutical industry soon took interest. As companies in other industries embraced that “clean room” technology, it gained increasing acceptance in the early 1980s and evolved into an industry standard.
In 1986, Mike was offered a managerial position in a competing company that did polymer flooring and terrazzo. He worked there until 1992 when he established West Coast Industrial Flooring Inc. Mike’s experience and knowledge of polymer coating systems increased the demand for his expert touch. He has been called upon to work on facilities throughout the United States and internationally, and Crossfield Products has presented Mike with its Western Region Contractor of the Year Award.
